5 ‘S’ Method of Evangelism
5 “S” Method of Evangelism
- Sin – Sin is wickedness, evil, an immoral act, a trespass against divine law.
- Everyone has committed sin. This is witnessed on a personal level by doing a self-reflection or on a global scale by looking at the world around you and is confirmed by the Word of God.
- Scriptures – Romans 3:10-11, Romans 3:23, 1st John 1:8
- Standard – This is a two-fold message.
- The first is that the Bible is the only consistent standard by which one may govern their actions. It has remained unchanged. Interpretations may change. Other religions may change. Other world views may change but the standard of the Word does not change.
- The second being that God’s standard is sinless perfection. Nothing else will do.
- The question then becomes how do we meet such a standard?
- Scriptures – Matthew 5:48, 1st Peter 1:15-16
- Son – The answer is found in Christ the Savior of the world.
- Scriptures – 1st John 4:10, John 3:16, 1st John 3:5
- Substitution – The wonderful truth concerning Christ is that He lived sinless perfection and met God’s standard in every way. He was completely righteous. He then became our substitute and took our penalty and gave us His reward!
- Scriptures – Galatians 3:13, 2nd Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 2:17, Romans 3:25, 1st John 2:2
- Salvation – The reward of Christ is eternal salvation! Completely justified in the sight of God!
- Scriptures – Hebrews 9:28, Ephesians 1:13, 1st Thessalonians 5:9
