Emmaus Journey
The immanent / intimate relationships

1. Part 1 – Emmaus Road (Luke 24:13-35)
   1. Relationship is that of Teacher and student / Shepherd and sheep
      1. Main emphasis – Our curriculum/course is of Christ.
         1. Additional Scripture: Hebrews 10:7, John 7:37-39, John 14:26, John 15:26-27, John 16:7-15
2. Part 2 – Upon this Rock (Matthew 16:13-20)
   1. Relationship is that of Foundation and building / Cornerstone and temple
      1. Main Emphasis – Our construction is built upon Christ.
         1. Additional Scripture: Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 6:46-49, 1st Corinthians 3:10-11, Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 28:16, Acts 4:11, Ephesians 2:19-21 ,1st Peter 2:6-7
3. Part 3 – Worthless Gain (Philippians 3:7-11)
   1.  Relationship is that of Treasure and earthen vessels
      1.  Main Emphasis – Our lives should be consumed by Christ.
         1. Additional Scripture: Acts 2:22-28, Philippians 1:21, James 1:2
4. Part 4 – Great Mystery (Ephesians 5:22-33)
   1.  Relationship is that of Bridegroom and bride
      1.  Main Emphasis – Our covenant is with Christ.
         1.  Additional Scripture: Genesis 2:18-25, Genesis 3:1-5, 1st John 5:6-8, John 19:30-34, 1st Corinthians 13:4-8
5. Part 5 – Bearing Fruit (John 15:1-11)
   1.  Relationship is that of Vine and branches.
      1.  Main Emphasis – Our capabilities are from Christ.
         1.  Additional Scripture: Galatians 5:19-24, Genesis 1:11-13, Matthew 7:15-20
6. Part 6 – Fellowship (1st Corinthians 12:12-27)
   1.  Relationship is that of the Head and the body.
      1.  Main Emphasis – Our connections are in Christ.
         1.  Additional Scripture: Romans 12:4-5, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 3:6, Ephesians 4:4, Ephesians 4:11-16, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 2:18-19
